First Tip: If you are in a restaurant and hand your credit card over to the server, it is possible that they can steal your identity at that moment. Never let them out of your sight to make a copy of your credit card. Always stay with the credit card to prevent this from happening. On the back side where you sign your name, write PHOTO ID ONLY instead of signing it.

Next tip, when using your Debit Credit Card, always cover the keypad with your hand. I have stood in line at the grocery store and watched people input their pin number in while I watched them. If I was a credit card or identity theft thief, I could have easily had access to their pin number. This is how they do it, they watch you and get the pin number. Then they have an accomplice outside who grabs the purse of the unsuspecting victim. Next, they immediately go to the closest ATM or bank machine and withdraw as much cash as they can. This how it is done.

In conclusion, be aware of all people around you as you use your credit or debit card at any Credit Card Processing Machine. There are safeguards set up to help fight this type of theft, but remember, the aggravation is not worth the trouble. It is better to be safe than being the victim of credit card theft. Identify Theft is not fun. Neither is replacing everything in your purse or wallet. This can be a real chore. If you have ever been a credit card theft victim you know it is not fun replacing your drivers license, credit cards, keys and any other personal items you may have that were stolen.
