I know we're past the Atkins phase and everybody is back to merely consuming healthy. However, I am going to put an innovative new twist on an old idea that will make you slim down if you execute it correctly.
Consider this - Consuming protein ACTUALLY accelerates your metabolism. Why, you ask? Protein requires A LOT of work for the body to digest. And everyone knows that performing work = burning calories. Any time you eat 100 calories of protein, you will use up 25 of those calories to digest it!
So if you're ingesting 2000 calories a day of protein, you'll be using 500 of them only for digestion!
2000-500=1500 calories for all you arithmetic wizards.
Now, don't get all excited and begin thinking you are going to consume 2000 calories a day worth of chicken breast. You still need carbs and fats in order for your body to function. You ESPECIALLY need carbs if you work out. So the obvious solution is to eat a higher PERCENTAGE of your daily food consumption from protein while reducing your carbs and/or fats.
There is no need for calorie counting.
Just do this:
1. Take your body weight and multiply by 1.5. ex. 130x1.5=195
2. Divide by the total amount of meals you consume. ex. 195/4=49
3. This implies you ought to eat 49 grams of protein in each meal! That's loads! But if you do it you'll lose weight. 49 grams of protein is 2 chicken breasts, 12 egg whites, 2 scoops of protein powder, etc.
4. Once you are done consuming your allotted amount of protein eat more food until you're pleasantly full. But don't overeat!
Do me a favor, ladies - Do not be stupid. If you eat 3000 calories a day of pure protein vs 1500 calories a day of whatever you want, this method won't work. So don't pig out. Protein does have a tendency to make you feel full so by increasing your protein intake you'll naturally eat less food and hopefully eat roughly identical amount of calories than before.
If you care about your health whatsoever, eat some raw fruits/veggies at every meal to allow them to aid with digestion and clean you out. If you do not care, don't bother. You'll still get skinny!
