Many people, especially men, are programmed to store fat within the midsection area. Because of genetic factors, some individuals might have to do even more exercise than others to have the body that they want. Genetics don't seem to be the ultimate word on the body you've got, but they do influence how much work you have to do.
Of course, right after exercise, diet plays a large role in the removal belly fat. Avoid foods that have empty calories, like carbonated beverages, or are fried. Choose chicken or fish rather than large amounts of red meat. Obviously you can't modify your genetics, but you can win the battle of the bulge by having a healthy diet and getting plenty of exercise each day. Not getting discouraged will be the key though. As you keep going down the road of getting more healthy and developing the body you wish, you'll notice that there are many things that you'll learn that can enable you to realize your goals. Since you undoubtedly did not gain that belly fat overnight, do be discouraged that it does not come off overnight either.
