This winter has been hard in many ways – not least of all in the fact that lots of us are dreading our fuel bills. One way to ensure that this doesn’t happen in the future is to install underfloor heating.

Underfloor heating is a fantastic way to heat your home and once installed it can save you heaps of money over the years.

We are living in a time when climate change is on the tip of everyone’s tongue and we are told that things are going to get warmer rather than colder so what is the point of Installing underfloor heating now you may ask? Well as we have seen this winter things can still get very cold with out warning. Underfloor heating is a great way of controlling how hot or cold your house gets. Because it is spread over a large surface it means that the whole of the house gets the same heating allowing temperature to be monitored more efficiently. This in turn means that you are not heating places that you don’t want to. Also underfloor heating doesn’t use radiators so as if by magic every wall in the house can be used to its full potential again and you don’t have to worry about putting furniture up against the radiators and hence stopping the heat from convecting around the room.

But if it is so good why don’t more people have underfloor heating you may ask? Well in countries such as Finland, underfloor heating is very popular - it is less popular here because we have cheaper sources of fuel, such as gas. However as the gas start s to run out it is time to look at new sources of heating and those that are more environmentally sustainable. Underfloor heating is powered by electricity that can be made from sustainable sources of power such as wind energy. This makes underfloor heating a great choice for the future.

Teamed with wooden flooring, underfloor heating makes your home not only toasty and warm but also gives it a Scandinavian style, which in itself is timeless and will keep you warm through the hard winters.
